John RayburnJOHN RAYBURN
Owner/operator of John Rayburn Consulting; Scenic Artist, Garner Holt Productions

John Rayburn went into business at the ripe old age of sixteen and worked for a friend that was leaving Walt Disney Imagineering to start his own business. He needed an architectural model builder and John was quite good at it, especially with paint finishes.

After working on a few projects, his friend suggested that John should “just use bigger equipment and paint the full size rides.” John was kept busy by doing themed paint, as he already knew what the finishes were to be, and had already done them on the model and created all the call outs.

After working on many attractions, John was able to meet a lot people in different trades and parks, and that’s when things started to really take off.

Over the years, John Rayburn has done work for many clients including Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea, Disneyland Hong Kong, Walt Disney World, Knott’s Berry Farm, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Natural History Museum Cairo Egypt, Kennywood, Dollywood, Kings Island, Yongin Farmland, MGM Las Vegas theme park, ILM, Tim Burton Productions, Warner Brothers, Culver Studios, Universal Studios, and many miscellaneous businesses, restaurants and homes.
John is currently working on the re-envisioned Calico Mine Ride due to open June 12th at Knott’s Berry Farm.
