Every neighborhood has one; the house with the lights dimmed, scary music playing, and the front yard decked with skeletons and tombstones! Kids in the neighborhood knew these as one of two things — the house they were too afraid to go trick or treating at, or the one they looked forward to year after year. But experienced Halloween junkies have another name for these: home haunts.

Southern California boasts some of the country’s best home haunts, with many that match and exceed the quality of theme park-level Halloween attractions. On Sunday, August 10th, ScareLA will feature the creators of three home haunts  that go above and beyond with the panel, “Screams Down the Street: Home Haunts 2014.”

On the panel will be Jacob Chase from Big Worm’s Sherwood Scare, described as one of the most terrifying home haunts ever; Scott D’Avanzo who converted his garage into an actual dark ride, complete with a vehicle and track, called Mystic Motel; and Trevor Nielsen with Perdition Home,  a full-blown walk-through maze filled with all matter of gore in his driveway. They will discuss their unique attractions and what fans can expect for the 2014 Halloween season.

This panel is sure to thrill veteran and new home haunters alike, inspiring them to take their own home haunts to a new level, while putting these new attractions at the top of Halloween fans’ lists to check out this season!
