Steve Biodrowski

steve mask of demon posterSince graduating from the USC School of Cinema, Steve Biodrowski has worked as a film critic and journalist for nearly three decades, writing for such magazines as Fangoria, Fear, The Dark Side, and Cinefantastique. For the latter, he interviewed such horror movie icons as Sam Raimi, Guillermo Del Toro, Clive Barker, William Friedkin, Wes Craven, William Peter Blatty, Tim Burton, Stuart Gordon, and Roger Corman. His work includes cover stories on the EVIL DEAD films, Bram Stoker’s DRACULA, and a double issue dedicated to the career of Vincent Price.

In the 1990s Steve became West Coast Editor of Cinefantastique, then moved to a position as Vice President of Editorial Content at Fandom.com and, more recently, served as the Executive Editor at Cinescape Online, all of which kept him busy covering horror, fantasy and science fiction in movies and on telelvision. But his interest in horror extended beyond the screen. In 2004, he started Hollywood Gothique as a hobby – a blog devoted to horror-themed events in Los Angeles. When Halloween rolled around that year, the blog took off, eventually morphing into an online magazine, featuring news, interviews, reviews and videos of Halloween horror attractions.

Having never expected that anyone besides his family would read or watch this stuff, Steve is surprised that he can no longer walk through Halloween Horror Nights or Knotts Scary Farm without being recognized by an equal number of monsters and customers. He does, however, appreciate the extra special attention the monsters extend to him.
