My name is Jake Byrd and i’m from San Diego and I have been a film director since 2013. I had a late start to my Directing career. My original goal was to attend Medical School but I found out that my passion had changed and I switched to my childhood dream of directing films. My first film was a feature named “Sue”. It was nominated for 3 awards at the FANtastic Horror Film Festival here in San Diego. I went on to direct a total of 8 films and have had a few of my films officially selected to various film festivals. My short Merry X-mas won audience choice award at the 2015 48 hour film project in San Diego. Bogy was another short that has been accepted into 7 film festivals and took 1st place in a local festival in San Diego called screens with screams. I have had other films such as “Date Night” and “Just Like you” that were officially accepted into various film festivals. I am currently in the pre-production phase of my feature film “Amber.” We are now in talks with an Executive Producer to get the final funding for production.
