Angeles. His books have a central theme of violent death throughout. The character not only doesn’t shy
away from the uglier aspects of dying, but couldn’t even if he wanted to. He’s immersed in it. It surrounds him.
Stephen has suffered from extreme depression his entire life and struggles with it daily. It even led him to a suicide attempt. He will discuss how this struggle led him to explore the whole concept of death in his fiction. How does it shape us? What does it mean? Why is it frightening? Or sometimes why isn’t it? And is living even worth it?
